The Bund: Tycoons of China/Vehicles
Simple units
- Horse wagons
- Lorries
- Cars.
That's about it, really. The cars can be used, ostensibly, as a prerequisite to recruit people? to kill enemy agents, blow up their cars I suppose. During police actions, an armored car with a lorry of cops will deploy first, with police coming in to round up your guys or seize property. If things get hot, then they will send lorries with soldiers. Then you're in big trouble, as they may then send tanks and planes in.
Military
All armoured cars and tanks have an upkeep in oil: 1 oil for armoured cars, 2 for tanks. Run out of oil, and they will be worthless. You need to build armouries, which have a knock-on effect on the city's wealth. Purchased vehicles don't appear right away, they must first be purchased, then deployed from the armoury. The only clue whenever you buy a new military vehicle is that a boat (Italian MAS, continental CMB or American PT Boat) will sail up the bay, visit one of the shipyards, then leave.
Armored cars
- French: Panhard
- German: Sdkfz 222
- Italian: F6111
- Russian: BA27
- American: M3
- British: Indian Crossley
- Japanese: Indian Crossley, don't bother with Hokoku cars
Tanks
Big daddies, the ones that crush buildings and blow stuff up.
- Chinese/French/Dutch: FT-17. We can use an I-Go or a D2 model....hopefully.
- German: Panzer I
- Italian: L3/35
- Russian: T-26
- American: M1CC
- British: V6T
- Japanese: I-Go
In addition to firing heavy rounds, tanks can pretty much crush any non-upgraded buildings and barricades. You have been warned.
These units need to be given DAE priority.
Boats
Only coastal motor boats, see Age of Darkness for more details.
Transports
- British: CMB
- Japanese: Their own.
- Italian: MAS
- USA: PT Boat minus guns.
- France: See British CMB
- Dutch: Uses CMBs
- Thailand: Japanese style motorboat.
These motorboats will usually drive into the harbour, drop off their load of units (1 squad of marines, 2 squads of infantry, 2 cars and 1 tank) and then leave. If you somehow defeat them, they will however send in a gun boat. Thereafter, destroying more and more of their units means more gunboats and more airstrikes - the computer will deploy multiple airstrikes, then bring in the gunboats and finally the units. As you cannot manufacture point defences, you will usually be overrun in no time.
Gunboats
Essentially a stripped down cruiser with a single turret. We shall continue to use Age of Darkness battleships armed with only one moveable turret.
Planes
During battles, you can call in airstrikes if you have built enough planes. These are all WW2 fighters although warlords can call in biplanes to drop small bombs.
Trains
In some cases, the Chinese government will send German-built armored trains to the rail stations. Destroying the stations is futile, because the armored trails will still arrive and then drop off their loads and move on again.
