Employees are special permanents that do a variety of things: they help run your businesses, and also can increase the amounts of Production Factors that you can earn. Having a good number of Employees is vital to keeping your business empire running.

There are two different types of Employees: staff and management, each of them with different attributes. As with all other permanents, you may only create one Employee per turn, at the cost of not drawing, cycling or selling cards, or creating other Permanents. Also, unlike other Main Board cards, you cannot sell Employee cards to other players.

Note that Employees have an upkeep cost - each time you begin the game, the Upkeep cost is deducted from your PF count.

Staff

Staff are Employees that can be summoned so long as you control at least one Investment. When a Staff Permanent comes into play, it must be assigned to an Investment of your choice, and will remain there until discarded.

Note the following:

  • You may use Actions to move Staff from one Investment to another.
  • If an Investment with Staff is discarded, all the Staff are returned back to your hand.
  • Each Investment may have a maximum of 8 of either Average Workers, Unreliable Coolies, or Technicians.
Name Cost Abilities Upkeep
Unreliable Coolies 10 PF

+3 PF per turn. Unreliable Coolies may not be assigned only to Light Industry and Commodities.

2 REP per turn
Average Workers 15 PF

+3 PF per turn. Average Workers may not be assigned to Nuclear Power Plants.

2 PF
Foreman 16 PF

+3 PF per turn if assigned to an Investment with Average Workers or Unreliable Coolies. When Foreman comes into play, you may search for up to two Average Workers from the Main Board, reveal them, and put them into your hand. Can't be assigned to Nuclear Power Plants, or any Investment with four Foreman Permanents assigned to it.

3 PF
Technician 16 PF

+5 PF per turn if assigned to Heavy Industry or Utilities.

Instead of paying 16 PF, you may sacrifice two Foreman to play this card at no PF cost.

3 PF
Supervisor 20 PF

+5 PF per turn if assigned to an Investment with Staff in it. If that Investment contains any Technicians, you gain another +5 PF. Can't be assigned to an Investment that has two Supervisor Permanents associated with it.

Management

Consists of the managers of your corporate empire. The number of Management Employees you possess is capped at fifteen; if you wish to replace them, then you must "retire" them, either by giving control over them to other players, or discarding them at the cost of 10 PFs per Management Employee.

Management Employees have special abilities which require them to Engage: when this happens, they cannot use that ability again until they are disengaged, or "Replenished". This occurs at the start of your turn, or can be induced through use of an Action.
