Powers of the Crown/Politics

Jump to: navigation, search

Politics is different compared to the original Rise of Kings. Your Senate still functions as a waypoint for patriots but now you have a different format for politics: the Senate now allows you to select your governments, and each one is for free.

Clicking the Senate will open up a menu where you may pick your nation's policies, very much like the promotions menu for Generals of RA3, but the effects have now changed. So now you have the following perks:

Dark Age governments

Feudalism

  • Grants access to the Baron, like in Rise of Kings but does not provide any further bonuses.

Urban Corporation

Gain an additional level of population cap, meaning that if you're playing someone like Serbia, you can have a pretty high population in no time.

Castle Age governments

  • Grants access to the Monarch, and replaces the Baron with the same. Unlike the Baron, he is able to increase the speed of chivalric orders travelling within his radius, and has more Craft.

Republic

  • Gain access to Armed Caravans, Armed Supply Wagons and Armed Merchants, who are tougher, faster, stronger, and capable of a weak ranged attack.

Imperial Era governments

Absolutism

  • Grants access to the Autocrat, and replaces the Baron and the Monarch with the same. The Autocrat is tougher, faster, stronger, boosts the attack of all units around him and increases the training speed of Barracks, Stables and Nobles' Courts within his radius. Absolutism is also a prerequisite to upgrade War Cogs to the Lanternas or the Carrack.

Legalism

+10 Wealth per City and Market you control, +200% Commerce Cap on Wealth. Is a prerequisite for the Brigantine.
